Just as fig varieties are sometimes known by their pulp-based flavors – honey, sugar, berry, etc – fig types are also referred to by the basic color of their skin. At the most basic, figs are often called either light figs or dark figs depending upon their skin color. Ripe figs with yellow or green skin are considered to be light figs, sometimes called white figs. All others – across a more diverse color spectrum – are considered to be dark figs. Mountain Figs 
I live in south western Indiana. In the past, I have tried growing Brown Turkish figs out in the open and most winters they died back so I never got any decent sized plants. I have a fairly good sized unheated green house a few south of my machine shop. I was wondering about trying to plant a few Violet de Bordeaux figs in it. My question is if the warm day time temperatures during winter might confuse the plants and they start to leaf out in January right before a cold spell. Has anyone ever tried this arrangement?

I don’t have a greenhouse or knowledge of greenhouse growing. You may have answered your own question though. I assume that temperature would need to be regulated to avoid the potential problem you mention.
